Mario & Luigi 3

‘Mario & Luigi 3’ is still very much a working title for this project, but you can probably expect much of the same kind of ‘My First’ RPG style action from this iteration of the Mario & Luigi series. The interesting thing about this version is that you’ll have Bowser on board for some of the game. In fact, you’ll even play some sections inside your nemesis, and have to battle your way through his digestive system… if you can stomach it.

The story revolves around a disease plaguing the mushroom kingdom, which probably explains why the Italian duo have been shrunk down to edible size. There’s really not much more information around at the moment, and we haven’t seen much evidence of the time-travelling mechanic or any other characters. The turnbased tactical combat makes a return, though, as does the unique and clever puzzling. If we had to guess, however, we’d say that the hook this time around is that by fooling around with Bowser’s innards, you get to effectively control the lumbering beast as he trundles around the world, inadvertently saving it. That’s pure speculation though, and we should have plenty more info in our next issue.
