Square Enix Mystery Solved
Tom Hopkins 17:21, Wednesday 1 July 2009

Japanese magazine Weekly Shonen Jump has reported that the game Square Enix has been teasing is a new Final Fantasy title.
Four Warriors Of Light: Final Fantasy Gaiden is an upcoming RPG for the Nintendo DS, which sees players take on the role of a 14-year-old boy on a quest to save a princess. So far, so generic, but Weekly Shonen Jump’s coverage also notes the lack of mana/magic points during battles, and the inclusion of a ‘charge’ command.
“We'll find it hard to get excited about a new FF title until the 13th game reaches these shores”
Take a trip to Square Enix’s teaser site via the link on the right of this screen, to see character art by Akihiko Yoshida, veteran of Final Fantasy Tactics and FFXII. The game hits Japan in the autumn – while we welcome any news from Square Enix, we’ll find it hard to get excited about a new Final Fantasy title until the long-awaited 13th title in the series reaches these shores.
